Training

1. Play, Play, Play: When it comes to club, it is important you get to the best training available, even if you have to drive hours for it. Also, your daughter needs to play all the different types of volleyball available. Whether it is on sand, grass, or hard court, your daughter needs to play as often as possible.

2. Physical Fitness: As a player reaches high school, it is easier to see that some players are jumping higher, running faster, and hitting the ball harder than other players. These players have already started to put the time and effort into physically conditioning their bodies to compete at a high level. Whether through a personal trainer or a training company, all of these athletes have realized that being physically strong is crucial to their success as a volleyball player.

3. Private Lessons: Private one on one or small group lessons, allow for specific and detailed feedback to developing players. This is important to a player that wants more training time in one skill, or just wants more training time overall. Contact AZU for more information on private lessons with an AZU coach.

4. Volleyball IQ: It is important your daughter develop a deeper understanding of the game. She can do this by watching as much volleyball as possible. Whether she watches a live or TV College, high school, sand, or National team match, your daughter needs to see the game played as much as possible.
