Junior Year

Your junior year in recruiting brings much more communication with coaches and a better idea of which schools are REALLY interested. Up until this point, many athletes around the US have received the same recruiting information you have, and it is hard to know where you stand. Now that schools can send you more detailed recruiting information, talk to you on the phone, and come for a home visit, it is easier to see who really wants you for their program. Please consult the NCAA Recruiting Calendar for contact periods.

NCAA Acceptable recruiting practices your Junior year include:

1. Any recruiting material can be sent to you after July 1 of your Junior Year

2. You can call the coach

3. Coach can call you once a week starting July 1 after your Junior Year

4. Coaches can come for a "home visit" (which is basically an off campus visit with you) after July 1 of your Junior Year

5. No official visits to the campus are allowed

*All of this information can be found in the NCAA Guide for the College Bound Student-Athlete
