Iris Gordon

Iris was born and raised in Wahiawa, Hawaii where she was a 4-year varsity volleyball letter winner as a setter. She started in all matches during high school career and earned all-conference and all-state honorable mention honors as a sophomore, junior and senior. Iris also played for Asics Rainbow Volleyball Club in Honolulu, Hawaii and with Olympic gold medalist Erin Berg under coach Pono Ma’a. The Asics Rainbow Volleyball Club was run by University of Hawaii Women’s Volleyball Head Coach, Dave Shoji.

After high school, Iris went to Gonzaga University where she played intramural volleyball and won several intramural championships. She graduated from Gonzaga with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science.
 
Upon her arrival in Arizona, she worked in the Strength and Conditioning field at Phoenix College. She worked with the volleyball team for 3 years as their Strength and Conditioning coach and served as volunteer assistant coach during the 2005-2006 season. She also has served as the Baseball, Men’s Soccer, and Men’s Basketball strength and conditioning coach, and as Head Cross Country Coach at Phoenix College from 2003 to 2008.
 
Currently she works with the Women’s Soccer team as Strength and Conditioning Coach and at The Village Health Club as a Personal Trainer. Iris is married to Matt Gordon and daughter, Madison. She enjoys lifting weights, playing tennis, and boxing.
